And What About TV Wall Brackets?

With shrinking sizes of present day homes, people are left with no choice but to look for ways and means of making better use of whatever limited space they have. That’s why we find many householders opting for TV wall brackets for housing their LCD TV or plasma screens. That helps saving floor space needed for table or pedestal for mounting the TV. Apart from that, mounting the TV helps to create a theater like experience while making the room a bit classier too.

The basic components that a general bracket comprises of is a wall plate attached to the TV (or whatever equipment you use for entertainment) or the wall of your room and the rails that are attached to the TV from its rear. Having fixed the plate and the rails, you can easily hang your elegant looking plasma screen on the wall plate. The arrangement allows you to shift the position of the device as per requirements, to your left or right. Further, you may remove the equipment from wall brackets any time you like.

Having bought the TV, the second most important item that you need to have are the brackets if you intend mounting the device on the wall. There are many designs and options available, varying from a simple bracket to a remote controlled unit. Here are some of the basic models available in the market for you to choose from:

Swivel wall mount: As is apparent from its name, you can adjust this type to any angle of your convenience. That means you can be at any position with respect to the TV, on its front or either of its sides. You just need to adjust the TV to keep enjoying your favorite show.

Flat wall mount: This is easily the most basic model. You can hang your system on the wall as if it were a painting! Apart from being economical, it is the easiest to install also. It’s limitation being that you can’t move or adjust your TV as with a swivel model.

Tilt wall mount: This design of wall bracket is rather complex, compared to swivel or the flat mount design. This is also the most expensive to have as it allows vertical as well horizontal adjustment of the angle of television. Its design includes an arm by which the vertical angle is adjusted. Apart from being costly, this model need more space also.

Wall brackets, manufactured from steel are appropriately designed to house TVs of varying weights. The weight of any TV largely depends on the size of the screen. A basic flat screen model would at the most weigh 100 pounds, while some weigh as much as 150 pounds. Specially designed brackets for holding larger displays are known as “Two Stud Mount”. To facilitate best viewing experience, standard wall mounts are so installed that the flat screen display remains within an inch of the wall.
